sorry- i needed a little break- here's a little som'em about me!

1. What is your occupation? Full-time college student- trying to get her masters. :)

2. What color are your socks right now? Brown and maroon with beige diamonds going down the sides.

3. What are you listening to right now? me typing- I was practicing my intervals and chord identification on a computer program called MacGammut a minute ago and started getting really frustrated, so I'm taking a little break.

4. What was the last thing that you ate? Spaghetti with sauce and peas.

5. Can you drive a stick shift? Yep- my first car had a manual transmission.

6. If you were a crayon, what color would you be? green- favorite color ever!

7. Last person you spoke to on the phone? My mama.

8. Do you like the person who sent this to you? yes

9. How old are you today? 23

10. Favorite drink: WATER!!!

11. What is your favorite sport to watch? I can really get into any sport I'm watching, but I think basketball is most exciting to watch.
 

12. Have you ever dyed your hair? Yep, brown with blonde highlights, didn't go over too well, so I went back to blonde, it just fits me better, I guess.

13. Favorite curse word? "Good Grief!" My roomates will tell you I say it a lot, that and crap- but I'm trying not to say that one as much.

 

14. Pets? My dog back in AZ- Laddie!

15. Favorite food? Still good italian, but I eat whatever I've bought at the grocery store for the week.

16. What was the last movie you watched? Hmmm, Sense and Sensibility! Love Jane Austin.

17. What is your favorite day of the year? The day after I'm done with finals- never a better feeling.

 

18. What do you do to vent anger? Sing as loud and free as I want to, and let it all out on the piano!

19. What was your favorite toy as a child? G.I.Joes- loved the way they could do the twist. :)

20. What is your favorite Fall or Spring?  Fall- the colors, the leaves changing, love it!

21. Hugs or kisses?  Hugs.- especially Hershey's hugs. ;)

22. Cherry or Blueberry? Both- do I have to pick one or the other?

23. Do you want your friends to email you back? only if they have time- doing this has only been a little break for me so I don't go crazy from studying.

26. Living arrangements? "Luxury" Apartment in Bloomington, Indiana- although I wouldn't necessarily call it luxurious- it's a simple and nice place to reside in, though, and I have two awesome roommates that make it fun too.

27. When was the last time you cried? I can't remember.

 

28. What is on the floor of your closet? school books- don't know where else to put them ;)

29. Who is the friend you have had the longest? My mom.

30. What did you do last night? It was FHE, so we made Valentine cards for the people at the care center. 

31. Favorite smells? I love the smell of rain, cinnamon during Christmas, and burning embers.

 

32. What inspires you? Reading the scriptures, and watching an incredible performance.

 

33. What are you afraid of? Bad people, spiders.

34. Plain, cheese or spicy hamburgers? I don't like hamburgers- unless they are in-n-out burgers.

 

35. Country you would most like to visit? Austria
 

36. Favorite dog breed? Big, fluffy dogs. :)

Greetings from Indiana!

Hello everyone,

 

I hope everyone is well and enjoying another semester of school and work, and life.

 

Good news- I looked out my window this morning and what did I see? Nope, not popcorn popping on the apricot tree, but 3" of real, white, fluffy snow! Everything was completely white; it was so beautiful. My could barely see me car; it was completely covered. I was so happy to wake up to such a beautiful sight!

 

I love it here. I think I've adapted real well to the weather and school. This semester has been a breeze so far compared to last semester. I think I just feel more comfortable here, and I don't have as heavy a course load.

 

Some fun things to look forward to this semester are traveling with my choir to Chicago to perform a Haydn Mass, as well as trying for the solos in other choral works throughout the semester, and of course Madame Butterfly in April. 

 

As far as my summer plans go this year, I hope to have the opportunity to be a part of the IU's Early Music Institute production of Monteverdi's Orfeo in May. I'm hoping for the part of "Speranza". I have also been offered several weeks throughout the summer as a Church Educational System Field Coordinator, and Building Coordinator for the EFY youth camp sessions over here in the Midwest. I am excited for such a job opportunity and for the incredible experiences that accompany this position.

 

I love it here. I love the people. I love the school, the atmosphere, but most of all I love the opportunity I've been given to sing and learn more about the voice. What an incredible instrument! I'm intrigued by it's structure, it's capacity, and most of all it's powerful effect on the human soul. How fortunate we all are to have such an instrument.

 

I continue to feel so blessed to be here. I miss you all, but wish you well in your individual endeavors. I pray the Lord will keep you safe and healthy, and grant you much happiness.
